I understand what an h joint installed floor pattern looks like see below but what is it that makes it not good.

Avoid h joints when installing flooring to give your floor a more professional look. This pattern doesn t provide a natural look to your flooring and can unnecessarily attract the viewer s eyes. Combine two or more different sized alterna engineered tiles and arrange them randomly in a herringbone basketweave or windmill pattern. The same applies to a step pattern in the flooring.
