When you first attempt to transfer from the floor to the chair.
Floor to chair trasnfer.
Place your chair upright with the footrests angled towards a side of your body.
Work to get a knee up with the foot flat 8.
Sit on the cushion.
Swing your hand from the floor to the frame of the chair.

Joe puts his elbow in his wheelchair basically using the chair to help him to where he is up on his knees.
Remove your seatbelt and move out of your chair.
Put your legs straight out in front of you.
He then gets into a high kneel position pushing off the ground with one hand while the other hand is on his seat cushion.
Keep your hands in front of your hips.
Put the brakes on.
Hold onto the chair at all times.
Place it in front of your footrests if possible.
Pull the cushion off of your seat.
Lift and push to slide your hips back.
Something like a couch can be used as a middle support device to allow you to easily transfer from the floor to the chair.
Once back on your chair check your skin more carefully.
Pick up your cushion and find a place to transfer out of the chair.
Push up to get both feet on the floor.
Reaching too far behind can cause you to slide off of the seat.
Raise onto knees by propping hands on chair.
